When it comes to makeup, I have an embarrassing amount. I confess, I probably don’t have to worry about multi-tasking products because I have a product for everything in about every shade! However, there are those times when I travel and my tiny car isn’t big enough to tote the whole collection with me. Also, I like to recommend multi-tasking products when I’m helping someone else get into makeup. Makeup is a vast world and products like these are a great place to start. Let’s dive into the reasons why Splurge Cream Eyeshadows are by far my favorite product ever!
I found out about their amazing staying power by accident. The first one I received came in a set and it was in a gold color that wasn’t really me. I decided to give it a try anyway and the day I chose to try it just happened to be Black Friday. At some insane hour of the morning that is basically still nighttime, I tiredly smeared the gold cream across my eyelids. I didn’t have high hopes since cream eyeshadow usually creases in a few hours (if you’re lucky) and this one felt super light. Oh well, I thought it would be a perfect day to test it because even if it slid right off, everyone else at that hour would just respect the effort!
When I got home and collapsed into bed, I noticed in the mirror that the eyeshadow was still holding strong. Already much longer than I expected. I woke up in the later afternoon and took off on a walk, and when I came home, I was shocked to find that my eyeshadow was still perfect- not a single crease in sight. It didn’t budge until I removed it late that night. After a few more test runs, I decided that this was beyond waterproof- it was bulletproof. I made it my mission to procure more colors and I ended up with what you see here.
My personal favorite and most used is the matte midnight black shade called “Magnificent.” I use it as an eyeliner and I have found that it stays better than any other eyeliner I have tried. I have tried many eyeliners from well known and high end brands, paying around $20 each, and this is by far the best I’ve ever used. Plus, the product itself lasts way longer than a normal eye crayon. The generous amount in the little pot lasts me about 8-12 months.
Since the Younique company makes safe and natural make-up, I decided to try this product for other things as well. I like to use it as a highlighter, brow filler, and also as a lipstick. I do have to caution you on using it as a lipstick though. The company approves it for use on the eyes, not on the lips, so when you use any product in a way it is not intended, you do run a risk. It was personal choice to use it on my lips and if you ever decide to do something like that, study the product thoroughly and know that you are taking a risk.
The shade “Hopeful,” a shimmering pink, is my favorite to use as a highlighter and an all over eye brightener. It really gives you that wide awake look. If you aren’t a shimmer person, I also really like “Victorious,” a matte nude with a slight peachy undertone. It works as a base for eye makeup as well as a great concealer for under eye circles.
As I said above, my favorite to use as an eyeliner is the matte black, “Magnificent,” but I also love using “Rapturous” (matte deep eggplant), and “Unapologetic” (matte orange/red) on my green eyes to really make my eye color pop.
Many shades have sadly been discontinued but there are 14 options in all, 7 matte and 7 shimmer, in a vast range of colors. You can find a color for any eye color and any look. Since I love them so much, I also like to give them as gifts. Shades like Hopeful, Dainty, Noble, Elegant, Victorious, and Unfazed are wonderful for people who are just getting into make-up and learning how to apply it properly.
All in all, Splurge Cream Eyeshadows are my favorite products to do it all. Whenever I get one of my friends to try them, they end up hooked too! If I could add just one thing to everyone’s makeup bag to make their routine a little easier and funner, this would definitely be that product!
