As you have probably realized by now, I am terrible at following up with things. I intended to do a review of each coffee I got each month, but then I would get the coffee and I would have a different post already in mind that I just had to share. While I am way, way, way behind on the coffee subscription reviews, I definitely intend to catch up! These are delicious coffees and I am thoroughly in love with my subscription so far.

Okay so I have to confess, I did receive one coffee I didn’t care for and that is the one on the left, the Single Origin Colombian. If you read the description on the bag with the tasting notes, it seems like an automatic winner. I brewed it in my Ninja coffee maker for the first time and it was really bitter tasting to me. I checked to make sure I had done everything right and all looked good. I wrote it off knowing some coffees taste much different when brewed other ways. I still had a Chemex and Aeropress to try these beans. Sadly, I have the same findings to report. I don’t think there was anything wrong with the coffee, it just wasn’t for me. After all the coffees I try, it is still rare that I find one I just don’t care for, so I was probably about due for this. If you like a really sharp tang to your coffee, this one might be for you.
With a little cream and sweetener, it’s not too bad when made on the Aeropress so I will finish the bag off, but I definitely won’t be purchasing this one.

After my disappointment with the Colombian coffee, my heart sang when I opened up my next shipment to find “Snow Day,” their exclusive winter blend. I admit I was hoping for the Puppy Bowl blend somewhere, but I already knew that Snow Day was delicious so I was a very happy girl.
However I made Snow Day, it had a richness to it but a sweetness that balanced it out. I usually don’t go for dark roast coffees, but Grounds and Hounds has a way with dark roast that I love. If you don’t care for dark roast, I would consider giving them a second chance. I know I am so glad that I did! This coffee is great black or in a latte. It really stands up to anything you add and the natural sweet flavor compliments almost any latte you could dream up.
I still have 2 more Grounds and Hounds coffees to review after this and I already have one of them. I am really excited to share it with you guys because I already tried it and I love it!
