Jot Review

February 9, 2021 By Christian Speegle Leave a Comment

Very seldom do we get to see a truly new innovation in the world of coffee. However, I have a feeling that with things moving to in home instead of going out, we’re going to be seeing more and more accommodations for the in home barista. Jot coffee is a miracle for in home baristas everywhere, and I have to say, it really surprised me.

While Jot is fairly new, I had never heard of it before. My mom told me she saw some really cool coffee that made her think of me, so she ordered some for me to try. I was so excited and I asked her all kinds of questions about it. She told me it was something different, but when she explained it, I was thinking it would be like the cold brew concentrates I had seen. I was wrong. When I received it, it was like nothing I had ever seen.

It was a concentrate, but I couldn’t believe what it said on the bottle. Just one tablespoon is all it takes for an 8oz. coffee, hot or cold. You can use it like espresso in coffee drinks, but for hot coffee, you just heat 8oz. of water and add your tablespoon of Jot. When I try any new coffee, I like to try it plain first. I usually add one packet of sweetener to any Americano style drink, so I did add one packet to my test run.

I was blown away! I thought there was no way that such a small amount could make such a delicious cup of coffee. It was one of the most balanced cups of coffee I have ever tasted. It was bold, but it wasn’t in the least bit bitter. There was a nice coffee flavor and a silky smooth body. I have already gone through 1 and 1/2 bottles! Each bottle makes 14 cups, and I use my Jot as my afternoon coffee. My morning coffee is still made in my Ninja Coffee Bar using the miraculous auto brew feature. Jot is pretty simple, but I don’t know if I can handle using a microwave to heat my water and measure out a tablespoon after waking up. Yes, I am that morning impaired!

However, if you’re a normal functioning human, it doesn’t get much easier than Jot. It’s so nice and easy to take with me on the way to work, and I can pick hot or iced at the last minute.

In the pictures, I am making a double. Each serving of Jot boasts 150mg of caffeine. Please don’t do the quick math on a double or you will most certainly judge me. Since you’ve already done the quick math, let me just say in my defense that I slept horribly that night due to a long and wacky dream where all the clocks broke (even the ones on our phones and computers) and I couldn’t tell if I was late for work. Needless to say, all the clocks worked great and I was on time for work, although I almost couldn’t stay awake for it. That’s where my double Jot came in!

This is amazing for people who like a simple coffee routine or people who are limited on space. I also thought it would come in handy when traveling. My husband and I want to travel, and I will definitely be taking a bottle of this when we do! It’s very portable and easy for on the go.

If you haven’t heard of Jot, check it out! The reviews on it are amazing and I can definitely see why. No matter how you like your coffee, this will put make your caffeinated heart smile.
