In the past year, I have gotten really boring with my coffee and fancy drinks. I love trying new things, but I keep getting stuck in a rut with one drink over and over. It takes something really big to shake up my routine anymore, but I am always thankful when it does. It’s been a bit since I’ve made any tea, and I am so glad that I rediscovered it!

I was so excited because one of my very favorite coffee companies, Puppy & Paws Coffee Co., decided to venture into tea. I trust the brand, so I was super excited to try some tea that I knew would be top quality (quali-tea?) As you can imagine, I was beyond delighted to find some samples of the new teas in my coffee subscription box!

Of all the flavors, the Coconut Chai was the one that really called my name. I adore both coconut and chai independently, so seeing them combined in one tea was like magic! I was in a mood for something fancy, so I thought I would try an Iced Coconut Chai latte since I was obviously on a coconut kick. I have to say, I think it turned out pretty amazing for a first try! I can’t wait to make it again and use a bit less milk and some more ice for a super blended drink texture.
I often complain about flavored coffee on my blog. Flavored coffee is good in concept, not usually in execution. I would say 80% of the flavored coffees I try taste like chemicals, not like whatever flavor they say on the bag. I feel like flavored tea can go the same way, although not as severely in my experience. This is why I am so addicted to Puppy & Paws. Their flavored coffee tastes like delicious coffee with a nice subtle flavor that actually tastes like what it says on the package. I am currently addicted to the King Cake flavor and I am practically sitting at the post office waiting for it to come in! The tea is exactly as delicious as the coffee. The flavors are so natural and pleasant. I can’t wait to try all the flavors, but I think I’m pretty stuck on this one.
I was totally a tea snob when Teavana was a thing, and I still have the “Perfect Tea Maker” that I got from there. Even though Teavana isn’t around anymore, you can still find the same basic contraption online, or just simply use a tea ball. I love my tea maker, because I feel like the direct contact with the hot water gives it a fuller flavor.

If you’re a fan of coffee, tea, or both, I highly recommend checking out Puppy & Paws Coffee Co. They also have a page on CrateJoy where you can join their monthly subscription box, which I received as a gift from my husband. It is definitely a gift that keeps on giving!

Iced Coconut Chai Latte Recipe
- 8-10 oz. coconut milk
- 1-2 c. ice
- 2 T. coconut condensed milk
- 2 tsp. coconut chai tea
- 1/2 c. water
- additional sweetener to taste
Note: Since the tea is hot, the ice gets melted pretty quickly. For a more “blended drink/slushy” flavor, use the 8 oz. milk and 2 c. ice.
Bring 1/2c. of water to a boil and let it stand for one minute. Pour it over the tea leaves in a tea maker, or place the loose tea in a tea ball to steep it. Let stand for 6 minutes.
While the tea is brewing, place the coconut milk and coconut condensed milk in a blender cup or regualr blender. Once the tea is finished brewing, add the tea concentrate you just made to the coconut milks. Add the ice and blend for about a minute. If the drink doesn’t have the slushy texture that you want, you can always add more ice and blend again.
Add any additional sweetener to taste and enjoy a very refreshing treat!
