It is with a seriously bummed out heart that I announce this is my last review of my BeadCrate Subscription. I was so thankful because my best friend who got me the subscription in the first place also offered to continue it for me but I turned him down. The boxes were a delight and I enjoyed them thoroughly but most of the beads were meant for work on much smaller string than the 1mm cording I use. Even the .5mm was a little big for some of the beads.

They were so pretty that I decided to use stretch cord to make some bracelets out of the lovely beads I had received. I had fun trying something new and creating out of the box. I keep meaning to get some wire and make some earrings out of my beads, but I keep scaring myself out of trying wire working.

Of the 3 boxes I got, I would have to say this last one was my favorite. This last box theme was “Harvest” and I love all things fall. It broke my heart to turn down the offer to keep it up, but another reason I said no was because of space. I have a limited amount of space to do my bead work and I’m starting to overflow it!

I would definitely love to receive the 3 month subscription of this once a year and it’s something I will consider for sure. I even made a bracelet with seed beads! It was nothing fancy by any means, but it was a foray outside the box for me. For some crazy reason, the picture won’t upload, but it isn’t too hard to imagine a bracelet with tiny beads in alternating green and purple (from the first two boxes.)

The beads on bottom in the above photo are tiny little grape clusters! I really can’t believe the variety I have found in these boxes. They include wonderful spacer beads and a few selections of unusual beads in every box.

I found myself using a lot of beads from all three boxes together to create new and fun pieces. The beads in each box are different, but they are similar enough to go together nicely. Honestly, if you do smaller work, you may barely have to go to the craft store if you subscribe to this box.

These are some of my sliding knot creations on different cords. As you can see, I do a variety of styles and I like trying new things with my work. The top right bracelet and the bottom right one (with the red flowers) both contain beads from my BeadCrate boxes. They mixed super well wiht other beads I had in my collection.
If you like to create, I would suggest that you at least try their one time box offer and treat yourself to this lovely, high quality assortment. I myself am considering ordering just one more time for the October box. After all, nothing is better than making spooky jewelry for Halloween!
Also, this Sunday is my second favorite holiday: National Coffee Day! Stay tuned for a special recipe.
